The 2023 XCR season concluded with the ever popular Tan Relays on Saturday. Our women’s Division 2 team finished in eighth position with Amy running the first leg in our fastest time of 14:18, followed by Nicki in 16:18, Nat (after a half Ironman the weekend before) in 16:17 and Tilly (17:49). In Division 5, Emma made an impressive debut with 18:37, ably assisted by Anna in 20:41.

Meanwhile, our men’s Division 3 team finished in twelfth with Aaron running the first leg in our fastest time of 13:06, followed by Ben in 14:10, Nick in 15:00, Marcus in 15:03 and Arun in 16:34. In Division 4, we had strong runs from Nathan 16:02, David N in 18:38, Neill in 14:43 and Richard in 20:58.

We also had an invitational team in Division 7, with Alexander clocking the Tan loop in 14:54, Steve in 17:37, Greg in 18:29 and Ivan in 15:24. We’d love to have them all competing next year!

Many thanks to our winter captain Chris for all his work organising the teams for the season, and also to everyone who helped out with AV volunteering, club tent, post-race treats and the tea box.

Looking forward, we have our last winter club run, the Stewart Findlay Handicap on Sunday 1 October at Kooyong from 8:30am for a 9am start. We hope to see you there.
