With the athletics summer season nearly here, the Malvern Harriers will again have a number of club events and also compete in the White Zone of the AV Shield competition.

The AV Shield track and field season has twelve rounds with about 10 events each round. Track events range from 100m to 5000m plus steeplechase and racewalking. Field events are long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, hammer throw and javelin. You can find the season program on the AV Shield webpage. Round 1 is from 1pm on Saturday 6 October at Casey Fields.

If you wish to compete for the club in AV Shield, you will need AV Athlete membership, and choose to enter each round as you go or purchase a package for all rounds:

• PAYG: pay $20 per round which allows you to participate any of the round’s events. Entry is online and closes three days before at midday.
• T&F or Max package: purchase a T&F package ($145 adult, $120 junior) or upgrade your XCR package to the Max package. Gives you entry to all rounds, and gives you the choice of registering online or entering on the day.

In addition we have our club events which are open to our Athlete and Recreational Runner members. These are handicapped events where everyone has the chance of glory.
